Safe Weight Loss

Permanent safe Weight Loss... it's simple!

You are probably thinking that this is rather a bold statement, particularly if you are one of those people that have been trying for years to lose weight with mixed success. But this statement is true. But before I get on to that let's first look at some general facts. By that I don't mean statistical details about the percentage of the general population who are overweight or obese…you already know that. But rather let's recap on what happens to people who try to lose weight and how they attempt to do it.

There are four main courses of action that people take when wishing to lose weight.

They go on a diet.
They take some 'miracle' supplement which claims to either speed up the metabolism or 'block' or 'absorb' fat.
They take a pharmaceutical weight loss drug.
They increase their level of exercise.
Many people combine three and sometimes all four of the above strategies. Sadly 97% of them fail. Admittedly there can be some impressive short term gains but statistically it is well documented that 1 year or even 2 years later that this same person who was doing so well has put back on ALL the weight and some extra pounds as well!

So, statistically there is a much better than even chance that your weight loss efforts will fail. Even worse than this is that you may seriously damage your health in the meantime particularly if you are trying to rely on supplements and drugs to do the job for you.

Let's face it, if the drugs and supplements really worked and all you had to do was 'pop a pill' then there would no longer be any fat people around, would there? I can assure you that if there was such a pill that would do this, we would be manufacturing it.

Before we look at why these methods don't work lets briefly review why people get overweight in the first place.

There are two fundamental causes of Obesity

Misinformation: Unprecedented amounts of misinformation about diet and health from government authorities, dietitians, and mainstream medicine. Much of the information given to the public over the last 20 - 30 years is so flawed and even though it has proven to be so, it is still perpetuated and promoted. The problem is that when something is repeated frequently enough via the media or by 'authorities' people will believe it to be true. Those people who could help correct this information are reluctant to admit they were wrong and so the whole stream of misinformation continues.


Nutrient deficiencies: Decreased nutritional value of food is having a significant impact on disease and obesity. This creates problems in various organs and neurotransmitters which lead to obesity. This is a 'creeping' problem that has been going on for the last 50 years thanks to modern farming methods and the 'processing' of foods.
Isn't lack of willpower a fundamental cause of Obesity?

No it isn't! That is a myth. Food cravings are not due to a 'weak' mind or some psychological disorder. They are due to suboptimal health of your neurotransmitters and your organs as a result of eating the wrong foods and a lack of essential nutrients.

OK, so how do you beat the 'battle of the bulge'?

There is only one way! You must understand how your body creates fat. If you don't know this fundamental then you will be destined to continue the 'battle' for the rest of your life. In addition to this you must accept that fad diets will never work nor will restriction of food through sheer willpower. In order to lose weight permanently and safely you must never experience discomfort through being hungry. When you are losing weight you must also be enhancing your health. Never initiate a short term weight loss program at the expense of your long term health and wellbeing.

This subject is far too involved for it to be covered in one newsletter, or even three or four. Therefore I can only give you the 'tip of the information' that you need. I have a plan to enable you to have ALL the information. More on that later. Now, for the basic fundamentals.

How does my body accumulate fat?

Easy question eh? Everyone knows the answer to that…it's logical! When you eat fat it accumulates in your body…right? WRONG!! This is what the majority of people think and it is the myth that has contributed to the current epidemic of obesity and the obsession with the low fat diet over the last 2 - 3 decades.

You are no doubt thinking that it is logical that if you eat fat you get fat. That's understandable thinking but it is not true. I will explain shortly what creates the fat that 'sticks' to your body. But first let me clarify something about fats. There are many different types of fat and some of them are very dangerous and should be avoided at all costs. Specifically transfats which are present in most processed foods. These are created through the hydrogenation of otherwise harmless fats. This process changes the molecular structure of the fats. The body can metabolise 'natural' fats but it cannot deal with transfats. This is a subject on its own which I will deal with at a later time.

Back to what creates the fat in your own body.

To discover why your body gets fat you need to start with the fat on your body and work backwards. In other words figure out how it gets there. The chances are that you haven't really thought much about this but have instead accepted the 'official' line that when you eat foods that contain NATURAL fat that you will put fat on your body. But now think about this for a few minutes. When you eat food containing fat it goes to your stomach. No argument about that. But then what happens? Does it then get separated from the food and find its way through your stomach and intestine linings to join its fellow fat hanging over your belt, or the fat filling out those blue jeans? Is this fat inside your pants the same fat that you ate earlier?

Some fat will get into your blood stream and find its way there but only a minimal amount. The reality is that the bulk of the fat will continue through your intestines and be passed out of your system. This is why 'fat blocker' supplements are a total waste of money. They can also even damage your health.

Where does the body fat come from?

OK, so where does the fat on your body come from and what exactly is it?. Body fat is primarily triglycerides, that same substance which is responsible for a high percentage of heart attacks and strokes. The bulk of it is manufactured by the liver!

All right, now lets fast rewind back to what triggers off the production of fat by the liver. To follow this next stage we have to go back to the food you ingest. This is what happens in simple terms.

When you eat food the sugars present in carbohydrates are converted to glucose. The pancreas releases insulin which transports the glucose to the cells where it is burnt for energy. But the cells can only accept so much glucose and what is not needed is taken back to the liver for further processing.

The liver then converts the excess glucose into glycogen which is then transported to the muscles for reserve energy with any excess being stored by the liver. However, the storage capacity is limited. The lower your lean body mass is the more limited the storage capability. Any excess glycogen is then further processed by the liver into…guess what? Triglycerides which is fat! This fat is then sent on its way via the blood stream to be stored in places where there are no storage limitations…stomach, buttocks, thighs etc, etc.

Prove it for yourself!

Want to prove the fat generating process for yourself? Have a blood test for triglycerides then spend a week eating plenty of carbohydrates, sweet food and no foods containing fats, and then have another blood test. You will get a shock as your triglycerides will have taken a mighty leap.

As I said earlier this is only the 'tip' of the information iceberg that you need to know. In case you are wondering I can assure you that this information is correct, it's well researched and I have tested it personally. Let me share my personal experiences with you.

Although I have never been obese I could have been considered overweight for at least 20 years. However, I have always had good health and although I wasn't excessively overweight I had the typical male middle aged 'spread' around the midsection. I hated having those so called 'love handles' and I would go to a lot of effort to try and get rid of them. This included dieting, excessive exercise etc, and although I would get some good gains from time to time and the 'love handles' would almost go, they would always come back with 'interest'. I was always hungry when I was attempting to restrict my food intake. In other words for 20 years I experienced what many people experience all their lives.

When I became involved in the health industry at the age of 51 (over 4 years ago) I was determined to permanently get myself into really good shape. I see people in this industry running companies and organizations who are far from being a good example to the people they are serving. Although I was healthy and in good overall shape I considered that I could be better. The 'love handles' around my waist that I couldn't shake off attested to that! I rationalized that I could not make comments on health unless I was a living example of what I was 'preaching' and that included getting rid of that little bit of excess fat around my middle.

In an effort to find the solution for this nagging 'problem' I spent two years researching and experimenting on myself. I ultimately found the answers and although they are somewhat lengthy they are really quite simple and primarily common sense. Although I am still learning something new every week I now know what it takes for the greatest majority of people to lose weight safely and permanently. The good thing is that it is not hard, nor is it expensive as it is primarily knowledge. It will also enhance your health. With this knowledge I have been able to get rid of my 'love handles'. My body is as good as when I was in my mid 20's and my health is the best it has been in my entire life and what's more, I am never hungry. Excess weight and overall health are intertwined.
